Yoshitaka Amano's "CANDY GIRL" and "TOKYO GIRLS COLLECTION" have collaborated to host a special event where tradition and trend blend.

As a special exhibition, Yoshitaka Amano‘s art piece ’CANDY GIRL‘ will be elegantly showcased within the castle, allowing you to immerse yourself in captivating world.
In addition to the fine art exhibit at the castle keep, we have also prepared an area for the sale of collaborative items featuring traditional crafts from Wakayama City, such as Wakayama Knit and lacquerware.

Come and enjoy the fascinating Wakayama Castle where tradition and trend intersect.

ABOUT ARTWORK

天野 喜孝 YOSHITAKA AMANO

In 1967, at the age of 15, he joined the animation production company "Tatsunoko Production Co., Ltd." (Now "Tatsunoko Production"). He went on to work on character designs for numerous series, including "Time Bokan Series Yatterman," "Konchu Monogatari Minashigo Hatchi," and "Shin Zō Ningen Kyashān." After becoming independent in 1982, he began handling the logo and image illustrations for the "Final Fantasy" series from 1987, which significantly contributed to the widespread recognition of Yoshitaka Amano's artistic style. In 2000, he was nominated for the Hugo Award and received the Eisner Award in the same year. He has held numerous solo exhibitions both domestically and internationally, including in New York, London, and Paris, and has captivated people from around the world with his fine art series. He continues to be active on a global scale in various fields, and his influence transcends national borders.
